Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas has shared a different opinion regarding the possible return of José Mourinho amid recent reports linking him with the club.
Reports recently claimed that Real Madrid have opened talks with Mourinho over a potential return to the club following two trophyless seasons.
It is believed that Álvaro Arbeloa will no longer manage the club next season, with Los Blancos now searching for an experienced coach capable of fixing issues within the dressing room.
According to multiple reports, discussions between “The Special One” and Real Madrid have reached an advanced stage, with the final decision now reportedly resting with club president Florentino Pérez.
Casillas, who worked under Mourinho during their time together at Real Madrid, admitted that he has no personal problem with the Portuguese coach. However, he believes Mourinho is not the right manager to lead the team at this stage.
The former goalkeeper urged the club hierarchy to consider other options instead of Mourinho, insisting the club needs a major solution to repair the dressing room situation.
Meanwhile, reports linking Los Blancos with Mourinho also caught the attention of Kylian Mbappé, who reportedly liked a social media post spreading the rumours.
Mbappé has recently become one of the most criticized players among some Real Madrid supporters due to his alleged attitude problems, which many believe have divided the dressing room despite his goal contributions.
