Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has broken her silence over claims targeting her past, including allegations that her father is Nigerian.
The outspoken activist decided to respond after critics accused her of hiding her identity on her father’s side, claiming she has Nigerian heritage.
The critic go further alleged that her stance on anti-immigration issues stems from her mother’s past relationship with a Nigerian man who allegedly left her heartbroken, suggesting this led to her supposed hatred toward foreigners.
Others went as far as questioning her name, claiming it sounds Nigerian and implying that her father is a foreigner.
Jacinta shut down the allegations, stating that her activism is about addressing challenges faced by South Africans and condemning violence and issues linked to illegal immigration—not hatred.
She wrote: “I woke up Nigerian today. I was Mozambican a few days ago. I also dated a Nigerian and made tweets and videos about it. I also have a Zimbabwean ID because I’m from Zimbabwe, and I’m funded by Israel, but it’s also IFP, and on some days it’s MK, and other days I want to be the mayor, or on some days I’m an ActionSA member. At this point, I barely even recognise myself.”
The outspoken activist has been trending following marches against illegal immigration that started in Durban, which have stirred debate on social media, especially as old clips continue to circulate online.
