Lamine Yamal will miss upcoming matches to finalize La Liga, after suffering hamstring injury, he expects to return in World Cup 2026.
Barcelona young attacker will be missed the rest of season, but they are already on verge of taking La Liga trophy.
The 18-year-old appeared to suffer the injury while scoring a penalty in Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Celta Vigo in LaLiga on Wednesday.
Yamal limped off with the help of the club’s medical staff and had to be substituted, raising fears that he could miss the World Cup with Spain before Barcelona put out a statement on Thursday.
It read: “Tests this Thursday have confirmed that first-team player Lamine Yamal has suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg.
“The player will follow a conservative treatment plan. He will miss the remainder of the league season but is expected to be available for the World Cup.”
Yamal has been in outstanding form for Barcelona this season, scoring 16 goals and providing 11 assists in 28 LaLiga games while adding another six goals and four assists in 10 Champions League appearances.
