VAR is meant to assist referees in avoiding mistakes and clarifying incidents, but it proved costly for Bayern Munich.
The German side suffered three major VAR-related setbacks: a wrongful penalty awarded against them in the first leg, and two clear handballs ignored in the second leg.
PSG will now face Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League final after knocking out Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid.
