Commercially, the movie has become a major box-office success. It reportedly earned $217 million worldwide during its opening week and has now grossed more than $715 million globally, with industry analysts suggesting it could eventually surpass the $1 billion mark.
With a production budget of approximately $155 million, the film is considered one of the most profitable movies of the year so far. Much of the budget reportedly went into recreating concerts, costumes, choreography, sets, music rights, and visual effects.
