Egypt Football Association has officially awarding three point to Zamalek, following the request from club after Al Ahly decided to boycott the match few days ago.
The request from Zamalek has been accepted, as the association gave them three points and deduct three points from Al Ahly after nasty boycott.
Al Ahly refused to play the summit match against Zamalek last Tuesday, insisting on postponing the match and assigning it to a foreign refereeing crew.
After the decision, Al Ahly has decided to file a complaint against the Egyptian Football Association and the Egyptian Clubs Association to the Olympic Committee.
The club’s statement read as follows: “The Board of Directors of the club, in its meeting today, decided to file a complaint with the Egyptian Olympic Committee against both the Egyptian Football Association and the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association regarding the violations of the regulations concerning the summit match, and the attempt to hold it with Egyptian referees in violation of the decision of the Professional Clubs Association (responsible for organizing the league competition), to hold the match with a foreign refereeing crew to ensure fairness among all parties… The meeting is still ongoing.”
Referee Mahmoud Basyouni blew the final whistle of the Al Ahly vs Zamalek match after waiting for 20 minutes for the Al Ahly team to arrive, but the red team did not show up for the match.
