he Cape Winelands-based club, Stellenbosch FC “Stellies” confirmed a new signing in Baroka FC keeper Oscarine Masuluke on a long-term deal as they bolstered their ranks.

The 30-year-old goalkeeper, Masuluke, joins Stellies and signed a long-term deal with the club – he arrives with a wealth of experience to his name.

The lanky keeper has close to 200 appearances across the DStv Premiership, National First Division, and domestic cup competitions where he turned out for Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele.

Masuluke also featured on the global stage after ending as runner-up to France international striker Olivier Giroud for the FIFA Puskas Award in 2017, and his arrival has been welcomed by head coach Steve Barker.

“As a club, we always want to have competitiveness and depth in all of our positions, and adding Oscarine to our goalkeeping department provides that,” Barker said in a statement.

“I had a stint coaching him at the DStv Compact Cup last year and saw his qualities there, and that definitely played a part in the decision to bring him in.

“He’s a goalkeeper with massive experience, great quality, and good size. He’s good with his hands and feet, and he’s a good shot-stopper, so he’s been brought in to add that extra depth and quality.”
