WHAT ROBERTINHO SAID AFTER THE VICTORY AGAINST VIPERS
The head coach, Roberto Oliviera ‘Robertinho‘ is pleased with the level we showed in the African Champions League game against Vipers and managed to emerge with a one-goal victory.
Robertinho said that what made him happy was the way we played as a team, especially in the second half, with the combination of young and experienced players being good.
“In the Champions League, especially in the group stage, victory is what is needed, whether one, two or four, what is being looked at is three points.
“We played well, we had a good combination, our method was to ensure that we get a victory, in the second half our cohesion improved, the speed increased, contributed by young and experienced players,” said Robertinho.
Robertinho also praised the Vipers for a good game and they gave us a strong opposition throughout but we managed to win.
“It was not an easy match, Vipers were competitive, they played well but we knew their tactics and managed to control them,” said Robertinho.
Our team has managed to emerge with a one-goal victory away from home against Vipers in the African Champions League Group Stage game held at St. Mary’s, Katende in Uganda.
Midfielder Henock Inonga gave us the only goal in the 19th minute finishing with a header following a free kick by Saido Ntibanzonkiza.
After that goal we continued to own the game to a large extent while the hosts Vipers made a quick attack but we were careful to face them.
15 minutes into the second half Vipers came back and attacked us fast but we were calm to make sure we didn’t make mistakes.
