Joseph Watts| Fan charged with assault on Arsenal keeper Ramsdale

Last weekend’s London derby “Tottenham Vs Arsenal” ended up into a mess after Joseph Watts, 35, assaulted Arsenal’s goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale  following Premier League leaders Arsenal’s 2-0 win.

Joseph whose presence as a spectator went beyond by commiting crimes at the stadium is charged with assault by beating, throwing missile onto a football playing area and going onto an area adjacent to the playing area at the White Hart Lane stadium.

Watts, of Hackney, north London, was charged on Tuesday and is due to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on 17 February.

Following Sunday’s incident, England’s governing Football Association “strongly condemned” the incident, while Tottenham insisted “violence in any form has no place in football”.

Arsenal’s victory left them eight points clear at the top of the table.
