Sibusiso Khwinana’s killers identified
Gauteng Premier David Makhura has announced that the police have identified three suspects for the murder of Matwetwe actor Sibusiso Khwinana.
Khwinana was murdered last week Friday, after he attended a screening of Matwetwe in Sunnyside, Tshwane.
Makhura made his announcement during a visit to the family’s home in Soshanguve.
He was joined by MEC for Community Safety Sizakele Nkosi-Malobane.
“The police are behind them, they are following on their heels,” Makhura said.
Makhura said that a special task team has been established to investigate the murder.
Makhura also passed his condolences to the family, saying that Khwinana was a very talented young ma that inspired the nation.
“What will make you feel better is justice, and that his killers are brought to book,” Makhura said.
Khwinana family members thanked officials for “bringing us comfort” and said they hoped other families affected by crime received the same treatment.
The actor was stabbed in Pretoria last week, allegedly over a cellphone.
Senior police officials said that even though they have identified suspects, they want to do things by the book and make arrests when they are confident they have all the necessary evidence.
