Oros Mampofu gets sincere about what keeps him grounded in showbiz

Oros Mampofu credits his faith and wanting to build a legacy for his two daughters as reasons he remains grounded despite his increasing fame.

Not only did he make his breakthrough on SABC’s Skeem Saam but he has gone on to star in Netflix’s Savage Beauty and KykNET’s Hartklop

The 32-year old told TshisaLIVE having Jesus Christ as his lord and saviour is what’s been grounding him in the entertainment industry since he found fame

“You transverse in your journey, you learn, see and experience a lot of things and you realise very quickly the person who keeps us under the hand is him. Jesus is really the one. It can all seem like the perfect answer or the novel answer but it is until you’ve experienced everything you realise that this really makes a difference. Knowing I’m safe under him is really good.”

Oros has two daughters with his partner Bianca Carmichael and he wants to model a life for his children they can look back on.

“I think my desire, my hunger to be an example to them in the best way possible, it keeps me hungry and aggressive, but it also keeps me anxious and aware. I’m trying to keep that balance because you can move boldly and be confident and crash like that car moving at 180km/h but be too slow and end up losing your opportunities because you are under the shell.

“So it’s always this game of figuring out the balance, and always trying to strike a healthy balance and it takes discernment. Obviously we are human, we will fall at some point because we are not perfect. The only person who is perfect is Jesus.”

James Ward-Prowse joins West Ham on £30m deal from Southampton.

Edson Álvarez, Ward-Prowse… now waiting to reach agreement on personal terms with Harry Maguire.

West Ham have agreed deals to sign Manchester United’s Harry Maguire and Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse. Both signings are key targets for David Moyes, who has been looking to strengthen his squad since the £105m sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal.

West Ham have moved slowly since selling Rice but business has picked up this week. They are poised to sign the Ajax midfielder Edson Álvarez for £32m and are set to make one more addition in midfield by signing Ward-Prowse for £30m.

Lucas Paquetá celebrates West Ham’s win in the Europa Conference League final.
Paquetá will push West Ham to sell as Manchester City prepare £70m bid.

Moyes also wants a centre-back and has convinced the board to move for Maguire. West Ham have an agreement in principle on a fee of £30m for Maguire and are due to discuss personal terms with the defender. The 30-year-old has fallen out of favour under Erik ten Hag, who has stripped of him of the captaincy, and needs to move to try to protect his England place.

Jub Jub charged with three Counts

Jub Jub charged with three Counts

Presenter Molemo Maarohanye famously known as “Jub Jub” is charged with three counts of rape, assault and atttempted murder.

The National Prosecuting Authority said the case was opened recently after comments Maarohanye made on Podcast and Chill with MacG in 2021.

He appeared on MacG’s podcast in December 2021, when he said he “smashed” actress Amanda Du-Pont. He also said he cheated on Amanda with singer Kelly Khumalo after the singer used “muti” to seduce him.

Below is a timeline of events after the Mac G interview which led to Maarohanye finding himself in handcuffs again on Thursday, July 27.

AMANDA DU-PONT SPEAKS OUT

After Maarohanye’s comments about his relationship with Amanda during the interview, the actress posted a 17-minute video on Instagram alleging the rapper and presenter raped her multiple times for two years while they were together.

“I was raped and physically abused by Jub Jub. The only thing I did wrong was keep quiet,” Amanda captioned the post.

Maarohanye later issued a public apology on his Instagram page but denied raping Amanda.

“In the aftermath of the release of my interview with Mac G, I have taken time to re-watch the interview and reflect on my words, specifically my exchange with Mac G regarding Amanda Du-Pont.

“It was inappropriate for me to discuss the intimate details of my relationship with Du-Pont in public. I regret the incident. I apologise unreservedly to Amanda for the humiliation and hurt I caused her,” he wrote.MASECHABA KHUMALO

After Amanda released her video, radio and TV presenter Masechaba Khumalo took to Twitter on December 3 2021 and alleged she was also raped by the TV presenter.

”It happened in Mama Jackie’s house in Naturena. He was my boyfriend. I was a teenager. I was a virgin,” she wrote.

MAMA JACKIE TAKES LEGAL ACTION AGAINST AMANDA AND MASECHABA

On December 14 2021, Maarohanye’s mother Ithuteng “Mama Jackie” Jaqueline Kabi Mpambani demanded an apology from Amanda and Masechaba for their accusations against her son.

In a lawyer’s letter, seen by TshisaLIVE, Mama Jackie denied the claims and alleged they were “purposely misguiding members of the public”.

“Our client denies she was involved in your relationship with her son and that she deals with or has ever dealt with muti,” the letter from BDK Attorneys read.

Mama Jackie’s legal team also sent a letter of demand to Masechaba.

“Our client denies the allegations against her.”

The letter demanded Amanda and Masechaba remove the social media posts, cease sharing the allegations, retract their statements and publicly apologise.

The high court in Johannesburg ruled the case of defamation she laid against Amanda and Masechaba was not urgent.

Mama Jackie’s legal representatives shared her answering affidavit where she argued her life had been threatened on several occasions since they accused her of using “muti”.

“I have not left my home [unless] absolutely necessary since December 5 2021, with the community continuing to approach my home several times a day, shouting at me and intimidating me.”

MojaLOVE: ‘Sizok’thola’ show fundraising is a scam

MojaLOVE: ‘Sizok’thola’ show fundraising is a scam

In the past week an allerged drug dealer died during a filmed bust in Katlehong.

The crew of the drug-busting MojaLOVE show ‘Sizok’thola’ have allegedly received death threats.

MojaLOVE has warned the public of a fundraising scam for Sizok’thola host Xolani Khumalo making the rounds on social media.

The host came under fire after the death of alleged drug dealer Robert “Kicks” Varrie.

The post claimed the ANC told Xolani to compensate Varrie’s family with R2m before he could resume shooting the show.

The account, under the name “TC Simelane”, asked the public for donations.

“We are sad to inform you the presenter of the Sizok’thola show Xolani Khumalo is facing a murder charge. A drug dealer died while [being] interrogated by the Sizok’thola team,” read the post. MojaLOVE said: “Do not fall victim.”

Speaking to ZiMoja, Xolani said: “This scam is saying Sizok’thola is asking for R100 donations. This is not true. This is a scam. That money is not going to us.”

The channel also flagged the scam with Capitec and reported it.

The Gauteng community safety department dismissed claims crime-prevention wardens, popularly known as Amapanyaza, were involved in the murder of Varrie.

Department spokesperson Ofentse Morwane said since the introduction of the wardens in 361 wards in township informal settlements the fight against crime had accelerated, ensuring timely response to crimes.

“These wardens [undertake] early warning crime-intelligence gathering through interaction with community structures and other sources as well as tackling lawlessness through heightened enforcement.”

MojaLOVE spokesperson Nonzwakazi Cekete said they were investigating the circumstances around Varrie’s death.

She said the crew had attended a drug bust in Katlehong. They had gone with “community law enforcement groups recognised by the police” and were acting on “credible and verifiable information”.

According to Cekete, Varrie initially resisted arrest but then allegedly agreed to hand over drugs in his possession.

“While MojaLOVE can confirm the crew was in the vicinity of the premises while the deceased was being questioned, the channel is still investigating the circumstances that led to the deceased allegedly having to be rushed to hospital. We will wait for the official autopsy results for the cause of death,” she said.

Inter Milan focus to sign Folarin Balogun

Inter Milan see 22-year-old USA international Folarin Balogun as one for the future, although no formal offer has yet been made for the player, who flew out to the States for Arsenal’s pre-season tour on Sunday.

When asked about Balogun’s future, Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta said: “we will see what happens.”

Meanwhile, Chelsea now have two serious bidders for Lukaku.
Juventus have held talks and are prepared to pay 40m Euros, including add-ons. However, any bid is likely to depend on them selling Dusan Vlahovic.

Lukaku’s other option is Al Hilal, although it’s though his preference at this stage is to remain in European football.
He is not expected to go on Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the US.

Analysis: Why Arsenal could regret letting Balogun go
Chris Wilder and his assistant Alan Knill have a rule when it comes to young recruits. “We try not to take anybody on their first loan,” Knill says. The reason? “It’s always such a learning period.”

Balogun struggled when he started Arsenal’s opening day loss at Brentford last season.

But when Folarin Balogun became available during their time in charge of Middlesbrough in the Championship in 2022, they knew they had to make an exception. Some players are too good to turn down. “He was just such a talent,” adds Knill.

Middlesbrough did not see the full extent of that talent in the end. Balogun, although prolific in Arsenal’s academy and with England’s youth teams, would depart the Riverside Stadium having only scored three times in 18 Championship appearances.

But even then, after an awkward introduction to senior football and before his stunning, 21-goal campaign on loan at Reims, there was little doubt about the direction in which he was heading
