Pepe Guardiola expects his side to defend Championship
Pepe Guardiola said “every game is a final” after winning against Liverpool last night as he expects his side to do the same on all coming matches to defend their Championship.
Guardiola hailed his “incredible” players for 2-1 winning against Liverpool, but warned they will have to show the same attitude in every match to retain their crown in the hardest league has experienced.
He said: “I don’t remember a league so tough. There are so many huge contenders fighting for the title. Every game is a final.
“I am proud of the players, but not just today. We lost two games in four days but you can’t forget what they have done for 16 months. We knew that it was a final today, if we lose it is almost over.
“All credit to these incredible players. Both teams tried to search for each other, we were not scared, we had no fear and we had a lot of pressure.
“They are leaders, it is four points but we have reduced the gap. We knew that if we won we would be in contention to fight for the Premier league, if we lose it is over.”
Fernandinho, Sane, Kompany and Aguero done fantastic job enough to reduce title race gap of 4 points from Liverpool.
Manchester City boss said, “Do we need blood? I like Kompany, he is such a fantastic player, but if Mo on his on his feet in the moment when he jumps over it, then we all know it, we talk differently.
“If a player makes a decision, goes on the ground, he just takes the risk. He’s still a nice guy with a really bad decision. That’s why I said last time, do we need blood?”
“In that situation, everybody knows, if Mo can go through, come on, what happens then?
