Iker Casillas may not play again after heart attack
Former Real Madrid stopper and current Porto player Iker Casillas may not play again following his heart attack condition after falling ill on Wednesday morning.
Other Porto FC doctor has revealed that the stopper may recover full but playing professional will depend on some factors.
“It will depend on the medication that he will need to take, on the evaluation of the physical demands of his profession, and also on his will to keep playing,” Puga said.
“Only after carefully taking all that into consideration will it be possible to decide whether he will continue, and whether he wants to continue.”
The Spanish stopper suffered a myocardial infarction in training with Porto on Wednesday, and was immediately rushed the hospital for surgery.
That surgery was a success, and Casillas shared a picture of himself smiling from his hospital bed on Wednesday evening.
Porto tweeted to inform fans that he was on the mend, writing: “Casillas is now doing well, the cardiac problem has been resolved. Always together. Go Iker.”
