Award-winning TV presenter Ayanda Thabethe issues legal statement after false relationship claims with the assistance of Makuta Attorneys Incorporated.
According to a press statement the law firm issued on behalf of the former Top Billing presenter and her partner, who is only known as PM, the mystery man is legally single.
“The rumour that Ms Thabethe is in a relationship with a married man is not true, and we have not been provided with evidence proving otherwise. PM is not in any marriage or union recognised by the law,” the press statement said.
Speculation that Thabethe was in a relationship with an allegedly married man was first made public by a controversial blogger on Twitter.

The statement further said that while Thabethe had opted to remain silent, the matter has “grown out of control.” “The said rumours have stained Ms Thabethe’s reputation and the brand she has worked very hard to build.”
“We are aware of the social ‘pages’ that started the rumours about Ms Thabethe, and the perpetrators are currently being investigated. Action will be taken against the perpetrators, and we again encourage you to refrain from spreading false information.”
Thabethe initially broke her silence about her partner’s marital status in a social media post in May. “I definitely am NOT dating, nor do I have a child with a married OR even engaged man. As you were,” she wrote.
