Gabisile made her revelation after ellow co-host on Moja Love’s TMI, Phil Mphela announced that a number of local shows would be launching on a new channel in Canada and the US.
And Gabisile responded to the tweet by laughing off how she was known overseas but wasn’t getting paid for it.
“I’m known in the UK and no money has been paid.this life is hard. @Official_SABC1 has been repeating my show for over a year now Mara dololo pay, what a joke my darling [sic] ,” Gabisile Tshabalala tweeted.
“t’s crazy… the last time i shot #TBT was in 2018, its 2020 and it’s still airing. What a joke [sic],” she continued.
Speaking to DRUM, SABC acting spokesperson, Mmoni Seapolelo said that the broadcast does not pay repeat fees for licensed dramas.

“The SABC has a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) which governs the process of repeat fees payments and this SOP stipulates that the SABC only pay repeat fees for SABC commissioned drama programmes and to Principal Performers. Therefore, the organisation does not pay repeat fees for licensed dramas,” she explained before revealing that Gabisile and her management knew about this.
“It is imperative to note that in this case the programme, Intersexions which Ms. Tshabalala’s agent was enquiring about is a licensed programme therefore the SABC cannot pay repeat fees. This information was communicated to Ms. Tshabalala’s agent,” she said.
