DaBaby issue an apology over offensive comments against people living with HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ+ community.
According to BBC, DaBaby reportedly told audience Rolling Loud music festival to put up their cell phone lights except the concertgoers who were HIV-positive or were gay men who had sex in car parks.
His comments divides people, some like T.I sided with him, but others like Dua Lipa, Elton John shocked with his behaviour.
Dua Lipa and Dababy worked together on her hit song, “Levitating,” which is on her album, “Future Nostalgia, so, she was questioned by her fans over his comments.
Responding to the rapper’s comments on IG story, Dua said she was shocked with his comment, she doesn’t consider him as person anymore.
She wrote, “I’m surprised and horrified at DaBaby’s comments. I really don’t recognize this as the person I worked with.” Dua’s note continued, “I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100% with the LGBTQ community. We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV/AIDS.”
Later, the rapper decided to apologies after backlash and calls of muting from social media.
Taking to his Twitter page recently, the rapper addressed his words about the LGBTQ community and people living with HIV, at the Rolling Loud concert in a couple of tweets.
“Anybody who done ever been effected by AIDS/HIV y’all got the right to be upset, what I said was insensitive even though I have no intentions on offending anybody, so my apologies,” but the LGBT community… I ain’t trippin on y’all, do you. Y’all business is y’all business,” the rapper wrote on his Twitter page.
His tweet went viral on social media, as many put him on blast for his apology lacking remorse, it didn’t convince many if he real regret for his mistakes.
