Dr. Tumi made a comment on fraud allegations after being detained by Hawks, along with his wife for further investigation.
The gospel singer decides to remain silence on allegations, after his legal team told him to do so as they expect to present truth before the court.
On Twitter, Dr. Tumi explain the reason he decided to remain calm on that case, as he was instructed by his legal team.
He wrote: “Good day fam. Hope you all are well. We also are good. As per legal advice, kindly note that we won’t be commenting on the current media reports, as the matter is before the courts. Thank you for your understanding and support. Love to you all and wishing you a great day.”
According to Hawks press statement, Dr. Tumi and his wife allegedly benefited approximately R760,000 from the funds.
Hawks spokesperson Capt Ndivhuwo Mulamu said: “The couple allegedly benefited approximately R760,000 from the funds. They handed themselves in at the Johannesburg office escorted by their attorney and were subsequently charged for fraud.”
The couple along with other suspects handed themselves to Hawks office on Tuesday, then released on R3000 bail
The statement continued, “They appeared in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court today and were granted bail of R3000 each. The case was postponed to 07 May 2021 for docket disclosure.”
