Tanzania Episcopal Conference of Roman catholic church in Tanzania bans special treatment to politicians from addressing and greeting worshippers.

According to official letter issued by TEC, the church made few changes on who should make announcement in front of worshippers.  

Catechist is only one allow to make announcements in coming weeks, politicians and other guests are not allowed, but they can use catechists to pass announcements or greetings.

Roman Catholic church made these changes just few weeks since president Samia Suluhu Hassan reminded religious leaders to stay away from politics.

Tanzanian politicians especially those in power were given special treatment in churches and mosques, but Roman Catholic church has decided to ban it following violence trends and respectively authority responses to it.

A couple weeks ago, Tanzania government shut down and unregistered bishop Gwajima church, saying he mix politics with faith after he put government on blast for failing to protect citizens and ironically blaming TZ authorities from disappearance and abductions of opposers.
