Diddy found guilty for only two counts, waiting for short sentence

Jury found Diddy guilty for only two counts, just from five laid down against him after months of court hearing and controversial past stories.

Diddy could face 3-10 years sentence from prostitution charge, court dumped all serious charges from over 30 witnesses.

The rapper’s verdict is now in after more than six intense weeks of testimonies from over 30 witnesses, alleged victims, and other people connected to the rapper’s charges.

Diddy was arrested last September in New York City after a federal grand jury indicted him on charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. He has remained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn ever since.

According to CNN, the federal jury found the embattled music mogul guilty on his prostitution charge but acquitted him of the other serious charges. The rapper is now reportedly facing up to 10 years in prison.

Subramanian reportedly studied each of the charges and addressed the eight men and four women jurors with the phrase, “Actions may speak louder than words.”

The judge urged the jurors to make an independent decision based on their assessment of the witnesses and how credible they found their stories.

Subramanian emphasized that the evidence in the case is testimony, and everyone who participated in the process deserves to be considered when drawing a conclusion.

During the cross-examination of the witnesses, which included former partners and employees of the rapper, Subramanian stated that witnesses with immunity should be examined more carefully than “ordinary witnesses,” per TMZ.

As reported by CNN, the embattled rapper was found guilty of two federal counts of transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution, each carrying a maximum of 10 years in prison.

CNN’s senior legal analyst Elie Honig said it would not be a shock to see Diddy leave court a free man, especially since he has already spent nearly a year behind bars and was cleared of the most serious charges.

“If this was just some run of the mill, unknown New Yorker who had only been convicted of what we call the Mann Act, of non-forcible interstate prostitution, he would walk today. Because [Diddy] has been behind bars for nearly a year,” Honig noted.

He added that a sentence of “time served” is a likely outcome. Last week, legal analyst Misty Marris said the prosecution strongly proved the two counts of interstate prostitution. “That has been proved by leaps and bounds by prosecutors,” Marris said.

Meanwhile, outside the courthouse, things got chaotic. Spectators sprayed baby oil into the crowd, a bizarre nod to Diddy’s trial, where prosecutors described his use of baby oil during alleged drug-fueled sex events known as “Freak Offs.”

Diddy’s partial conviction in his federal sex trafficking case is making waves across the entertainment world, and some of the reactions are anything but subtle.

Cassie’s lawyer, Douglas Wigdor, stated that the case would not have occurred without her civil complaint, which she filed in November 2023. “We must repeat—with no reservation—that we believe and support our client who showed exemplary courage throughout this trial,” Wigdor said.

He also emphasized that the case exposed long-ignored abuse by powerful men in entertainment and signaled that change is overdue.

Meanwhile, 50 Cent took a mocking tone, posting a grinning photo of himself on Instagram with the caption, “Diddy beat the Feds that boy a bad man! beat the Rico, he the Gay John Gotti.”

Singer and former Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day had a more emotional response, posting her reaction to the verdict on her Instagram live. “This makes me physically ill. Cassie probably feels so horrible. Ugh, I’m gonna vomit,” she said.
